How We Verify Every Caregiver
You're trusting us to place someone in your home — with your parent, your child, your most vulnerable family member. That trust demands more than a résumé check.
Here's the 4-step verification every EnconeCare caregiver must pass before they meet a single patient.
Document Verification
We verify every credential the caregiver presents — GNM diploma or B.Sc Nursing degree from a recognized Indian institution, government-issued ID (Aadhaar), and current address proof. We cross-check nursing registration numbers with the State Nursing Council database.
What We Check:
- GNM Diploma or B.Sc Nursing degree verification
- Aadhaar / government ID confirmation
- State Nursing Council registration cross-check
- Experience certificates from previous employers
Police Clearance Verification
Every caregiver undergoes a police verification check through authorized channels. We confirm there is no criminal history or pending cases. This step alone disqualifies approximately 8% of applicants — and that's a number we're proud of.
What We Check:
- Criminal background check through authorized agencies
- Address verification at the caregiver's current residence
- Previous employment history cross-reference
- Identity confirmation through biometric channels
In-Person Skills Assessment
Document verification tells us they're qualified. The in-person assessment tells us they're competent. Our nursing supervisor conducts a hands-on evaluation — from vital sign measurement to catheter handling — in a simulated home care environment.
What We Check:
- Practical demonstration of vital signs monitoring
- Wound dressing and IV line setup proficiency
- Patient handling and mobility assistance evaluation
- Communication skills and temperament assessment
Reference Calls
We call at least two previous employers or families the caregiver has worked with. We ask specific questions: Was the caregiver punctual? How did they handle emergencies? Would you hire them again? Vague or evasive answers result in rejection.
What We Check:
- Minimum 2 previous employer references contacted
- Questions on punctuality, reliability, and emergency response
- Verification of claimed experience duration
- Assessment of why the previous engagement ended

Common Questions About Our Verification
What percentage of applicants pass the verification?
Approximately 70% of applicants pass all 4 steps. The remaining 30% are disqualified during document verification (incomplete credentials), police clearance (flagged records), skills assessment (inadequate competency), or reference calls (poor feedback from previous families).
How long does the verification process take?
Our standard verification process takes 5–7 working days for new caregivers. However, we maintain a large pre-verified pool of 500+ professionals, so most families receive a matched caregiver within 24 hours from our existing network.
Can I see the caregiver's verification documents?
Yes. On request, we share a summary of the caregiver's qualifications and verification status with the family. Full credential details are maintained at our office and available for review.
